Amanda (she/her) is a queer systemic family psychotherapist working with queer relationships and families. She lectures across the UK and is a trainer, supervisor and consultant on all things therapeutic and queer.

  • Offering supervision and consultation that is collaborative and focuses on systemic ways of working.

I work with systemic psychotherapists, as well as therapists and counsellors who are working alongside LGBTQIA+ people. Work can be ongoing with regular sessions where we talk about clients, therapeutic themes and learning and development. One off and irregular consultations are also possible, where we attend to specific cases or themes that are important to your work right now.

I am particularly interested in working with therapists thinking about queerness, relationships and the intersections of personal and professional worlds.

As well as one to one work I also offer reflective practice groups and group supervision and am currently working with The Clare Project, Gendered Intelligence, Booking.com, Smart About Health and The Birmingham and Sollihull Mental Health Foundation Trust.

  • A passionate teacher and trainer delivering lectures and conference keynotes, running workshops and professional development training with a range of organisations across statutory, voluntary and independent sectors.

Keen to extend thinking and practice I offer teaching that enhances peoples skill and confidence on the ground with a mixture of theory and practice, humor and reflection.

Themes and subjects that I teach often are:

    · working alongside LGBTQIA people, relationships, and families,

    · embedding intersectional approaches in therapy,

    · Systemic psychotherapy

    · Reflexivity and use of self practices

    · Depathologizing clinical practice.

Currently I lecture across qualifying training courses at:

The Institute of Family Therapy, Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, University of Leeds, South West London and St Georges Mental Health NHS Trust, Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

I have previously offered teaching and training for continuing professional development at:

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Gendered Intelligence, Association of Family Therapy branches, Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology, Pink Therapy, Slough CAMHS, Relate, Friends of KCC, Liberate Jersey, CORST, Confer , The Anna Freud School and The Brandon Centre.
